Prayer Ministry

All welcome, in person or online

Wednesdays, 7:00 pm

At Westlynn Baptist Church, we strongly believe in the power of prayer and  that too often we have not because we ask not (James 4:2). Our Lord Jesus Christ was a man of prayer, often going to desolate places early  in the morning to pray (Mark 1:35) and spending entire nights in prayer as he communed with his Father (Luke 6:12, Matt 26:36-46). Our church has a number of prayer gatherings throughout the week.

On Sunday mornings, we gather for a time of pre-service prayer at 9:15am in the prayer downstairs. During this meeting, we pray for the Lord’s strengthening and ask for his blessing over our service and to allow us to minister to those who come to worship.

During our Sunday services, we have a time of responsive prayer. Following the sermon, we invite people to come to the front or to the back where someone from the prayer team will be available to pray for requests or needs that have come up while the congregation continues singing.

On Wednesday evenings, our church family gathers for midweek prayer at 7pm in the main sanctuary. During this time, we open with a time of praise and adoration, glorifying God for who He is and then praying for the salvation of lost souls and also various needs in our congregation and beyond. This time in corporate prayer is precious as it not only unites our hearts together before the Lord, but we also have the blessing of seeing God powerfully answer our prayers and requests.
